Renato Visits Bedford

Renato Miragaia, Brazilian jiu jutsu champion visited the Bedford dojo in July. We learnt an enormous amount and had a great time. Visits like this help to forge relationships, expose new ideas to the students and increase the knowledge and variety in the school

Renato has impeccable credentials: Panamerican champion jiu jitsu; black belt 2003 Brazilian champion 2002 & 2003; Two-time world championship medalist 2nd and 3rd place in world jiu jitsu championship 1999, 2002

Peter Klein and Russell Stutely Seminar - October 2006

The October Sacred Spring course hosted Peter Klein of Yagyu Shingan Ryu on Saturday and Russell Stutely with his OCFM on Sunday.

Sensei Peter Klein taught an excellent and fascinating seminar of authentic, traditional Jiu Jutsu Kata dating from the 17th century. Sensei Peter's demonstration gave us new insights into the effectiveness of this as a battlefield fighting form.

Russell Stutely's practical, no-nonsense approach went down very well. His intimate knowledge of physiology, body mechanics and pressure points produced surprising (and VERY painful!!) effects.
